What is Ninja Outbreak?
Ninja Outbreak is a low-fi top-down survival horror game where you must survive on a research station on Venus which has been overrun by bloodthirsty Ninja. The laboratory had been working on a super-soldier serum. The test subjects began showing increased reflexes and super-human strength, but also became violent and attacked the scientists. To make matters worse, some of the victims began showing the same symptoms, leading to a full-blown Ninja Outbreak.
Ninja Outbreak is currently available for purchase on Steam.
What makes the game interesting?
-Ninja Outbreak has a focus on scarcity of resources. You must conserve your ammo, and pick your battles. In addition, keys which open up shortcuts and supply closets act as another form of limited resource. A big part of this game was about creating interesting risk/reward situations.
– The final area of the game is accessible fairly early on, however, it is dangerous to go in unprepared. This means that it is up to the player how much of the station they wish to explore in order to gain the tools they need to venture into the North Lab and take on the Ninja Master.
– Interesting enemy behavior. Ninjas will stalk you from room to room, some will sabotage things in the environment or steal health items. There is even an enemy type that can pursue you through most of the game world.
-There are many places to explore, and secrets to discover.
Who Am I?
My name is Alec Stamos, and I’ve been creating Independent games for around 5 years now under the Tales of the Renegade Sector banner (and a number of years before that as well). My previous games include Venusian Vengeance (currently available on steam), Ninja the Explorer, and the Tales of the Renegade Sector episodic series (Which you can find on my website). I’m currently working on Cold Vengeance, a 3D run ‘n’ gun sequel to Venusian Vengeance which is on Steam Greenlight: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=59
